Blue Flower In My Garden

I have a blue water lily in my garden.

It has only a single flower but it's a beauty to behold each day! Notice its transformation. I took the pictures in 3 consecutive days.

"No two gardens are the same.  No two days are the same in one garden."

Fresh Flowers in the Rain

It was raining when we came back from shopping for flowering plants for our butterfly garden project. I'm excited to show you how the project goes, but not yet. But here are the latest gorgeous addition:

The orange hibiscus is the most favorite. I just love the dews on it.

Every dew-drop and rain-drop had a whole heaven within it.

Dew-drops are the gems of morning,
But the tears of mournful eve!

Birds of Paradise

My host took me to the far corner of her garden to show me her birds of paradise. She led me through deep leaves and muddy ground to see these beauties. She pointed and told me to frame these 3. I got 3 kinds in one snap!

Then she drove me to her friend's garden to see more...

God Almighty first planted a garden.
And indeed, it is the purest of human pleasures.

Little Creatures in the Garden

All things bright and beautiful,
 all creatures great and small,
 all things wise and wonderful:
the Lord God made them all.
 Each little flower that opens,
 each little bird that sings,
 God made their glowing colors,
 and made their tiny wings.
 The purple-headed mountains,
 the river running by,
 the sunset and the morning
 that brightens up the sky.
The cold wind in the winter,
 the pleasant summer sun,
the ripe fruits in the garden:
 God made them every one.
God gave us eyes to see them,
and lips that we might tell
 how great is God Almighty,
who has made all things well.
 -Cecil Frances Alexander
All photos are taken in a friend's beautiful.
I thank her for my time well spent there.

Yellow Bell: A big surprise

This yellow bell (not sure of it's name) is a lot bigger than normal.

It's bright yellow color made my rainy morning sunny.

"The earth laughs in flowers," says Ralph Waldo Emerson......

..... and this one is LOL!

(The last photo is my entry for MFS gallery.)

Earth is here so kind, that just tickle her with a hoe
and she laughs with a harvest.

Red Flowers

These are just few of the red flowers in a friend's garden. I sat there for many hours watching butterflies. An idea came to mind....I brought home some seeds and stems to plant. My own butterfly garden is soon done.

Gardens are not made by singing
“Oh how beautiful”
and sitting in the shade.
  by Rudyard Kipling
I work under the sun till brown. Legs are sore from squatting on the ground. Arm muscles stiffens tilling dirt and pulling weeds.  My able little helpers are eager to catch the butterflies we long to see.

One of the most delightful things about a garden
is the anticipation it provides.

Winged Flower

This flower (Belamcanda Chinesis, also known as the Leopard Flowers) is a beauty in itself.

What more when another winged flower comes to it?

Both become one spectacular sight.

The butterfly is a flying flower,
The flower a tethered butterfly.

~Ponce Denis Écouchard Lebrun

Beautiful and graceful,
varied and enchanting,
small but approachable,
butterflies lead you to the sunny side of life.
And everyone deserves a little sunshine.
~Jeffrey Glassberg

It lingered a while..long enough for me to take delight on this moment.
I paused, closed my eyes, took a deep breath... and thanked God for a time of rest.

The butterfly counts not months but moments,
and has time enough.
~Rabindranath Tagore

There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly.
~Richard Buckminster Fuller

We delight in the beauty of the butterfly,
but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.

"You were taught to put away your former way of life, your old self, ......
and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
and to clothe yourselves with the new self,
created according to the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness"
