Torch Ginger in Bloom

Torch ginger or ginger flower (Etlingera Elatior) is not only for our eyes to behold but also for our taste buds. The flower bud is an important ingredient to many Asian dishes like my favoriteThai tom yam and Malay laksa.

How could such sweet and wholesome hours be reckoned,
but in herbs and flowers?

  1. So, this a gorgeous flower is the ginger flower.
I like those velvety petals and the candy pink color. We have its roots but it doesn't grow by us, so this is a rare occasion for me to see the flower.
Thanks for sharing this exquisite macro on Macro Flower Saturday!
